Godot Engine is now opensource
Since the announcement that Godot Engine would be opensource, I was patiently waiting for that.
Today that wait was ended: Godot Engine is now opensource and can be downloaded at the official website (be pacient, the site is very slow at the moment – probably because of traffic).
Those who don’t know, Godot is the game engine created and used by OKAM Studios, a company that resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina and have several projects (including one with Square Enix).
The engine is Unity-like and uses C++ and a Lua-like script.
It’s a matter of time to a community grow up and make this engine as popular as others or even more (specially because of the opensource part).
I already downloaded it and plan to test it very soon and see where I can contribute.
Congratulation to the OKAM Studio team to make this initiative. They sure deserve our respect.
